Zoning Board of Appeals Public Hearing Minutes July 27th, 2020

 

The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Sue Cantillon at 6:05 pm.

Roll Call/Establish Quorum

The following members were present:

Sue Cantillon – Present
Cheryl Curtis – Present
Josefina Del Rio – Absent
Tina Joaquin – Absent
Linda Medlin – Absent
Adriana Ornelas – Present
Killian Weir – Present

A quorum was established.

Also present was Karen Manso. Zoning Board Administrator Scott Penny is in the process of retirement and was not in attendance.

Chairperson Sue Cantillon asked for a motion to approve the minutes of meeting held on April 27, 2020. The motion was made by Killian Weir and seconded by Adriana Romo to approve the minutes of meetings held on April 27, 2020.

Public Comment – No Public Comment

Report of Board Members

Killian Weir wanted to thank Scott Penny for his many years of service and stated he will be missed.

Killian Weir wanted to remind the board that Scott Penny had advised the Zoning Ordinance needed to be revisited due to the number of amendments the board has made.

The board member also wanted to point out that there is a roadway on what was a previous ball field near Kingshighway and Thomas. He presented a question; can it be driven on? No one had an answer and Ms. Manso said she would look into it.

Report of Zoning Administrator

In the absence of the administrator Chairperson Sue Cantillon also wanted it recorded the appreciation of Scott Penny’s contributions to this board.

Next Zoning Board Meeting

The next and last regularly scheduled 2020 Zoning Board Meeting is October 26, 2020.

Adjourn

The motion was made by Cheryl Curtis and seconded by Adriana Romo to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 6:10pm.
